TVGuide.com has some interesting info out about season 9 of Smallville!  Apparently, Brian Austin Green is set to play Metallo in the first couple of episodes of Smallville for season 9!

Green will appear as the kryptonite-powered villain (alter ego “Daily Planet” journo John Corben) in at least the first two episodes of Season 9, which takes flight Friday, Sept. 25.

Interestingly, Smallville fans were waiting for news on big, bad Zod, given the events of the Season 8 finale, but that role still has yet to be cast. (I suppose you could say the show “zigged” instead of Zod.)

While I am not a big fan of Brian Austin Green, this could end up being a pleasant surprise.  He has gotten a lot of support after his role in Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles.  Let’s hope he keeps up the momentum he has created, with Metallo!
