Ask Mattel August 15th

DCCollector -  Have you discussed with Wal-Mart possibly offering the exclusive waves online or
somehow ensuring product makes it to the shelves and is not pulled by Wal-Mart
employees for selling on ebay. Obviously, the ability to get the Wal-Mart waves is
the #1 DCUC collector concern.

Mattel -Yes we have, and if Wal-Mart chooses to sell these online they are available to them.

DCCollector – Who made the decision to go with Zebra Batman? I vaguely remember an issue of
Batman or Detective that featured that suit but, it just seems that another Batman
suit would come before that.

Mattel – That was a prototype made by Brand Manager Scott Neitlich and lead designer Bill
Benecke as a fun item. We received special permission from DC to put it out at SDCC
to gage fan interest in such an odd redeco. (but true to the comics!)

DCCollector – Since we are starting to see the new designs for the Infinite Heroes line, will
some of the early figures get the new figure treatment?

Mattel – Yes.

DCCollector – Will the Superman/Batman: Public Enemies line have more than one wave and will
Mattel keep this same scale and type of figure for more DC Animated lines?

Mattel – If Pubic Enemies sells well, we’d love to do more like this!

DCCollector – The new Movie Masters 12″ figures are for all intents and purposes a
“Collectors” line. With that said the prototypes shown at SDCC don’t seem up to par
with other 12″ figures such as figures by Hot Toys. If this is a collector’s line,
why not step up the detail and accuracy to compete with a “Hot Toys” type company,
even if the costs of the figures went up?

Mattel – We think when you see the final product you’ll be blown away. Did you SEE how much
detail is in those Proton Packs?
